From July 9 to July 15, the international course "Quantum Information Theory" delivered by Prof. Martin Bodo Plenio from Ulm University held online. The course was open to all HUST students. It was a great chance to aspire the interest of conducting quantum information research and abundant relevant theory knowledge to our students.
In each topic, Prof. Martin Plenio clearly explained the historical background and development of the relevant research, gave rigorous mathematical derivations and proofs, and assisted students' understanding through simple and intuitive typical examples closely related to cutting-edge quantum information research.
After each class, Prof. Cai Jianming organized the discussion and solved all questions asked by students. The counsellors leaded students to solve after-class assignments, deepen the understanding of course contents.
During the course, Associate Prof. Ralf Betzholz invited Bruno G. Taketani, the team member of IQM, to introduce the frontier research progress on the area of quantum computing, which benefit students to broaden horizons and deepen the understanding of theoretical research and practical applications.
Through learning the course, HUST students mastered basic theories related to quantum information, broadened international horizons and improved professional English level.
