Valeo is an automotive supplier and partner to automakers worldwide. On July 6th, Francois BORDES, the CTO of Thermal Systems Business Group, and his team came to our university and visit the V.A.LAB China, which is a joint laboratory for vibration and acoustics established by Valeo and Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST). Professor Xu Jianfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Wan Tian, Director of the European and African Office of the International Exchange Office, Li Congmin, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office of the Science and Technology Development Institute, and Professor Huang Qibai of the School of Mechanical Engineering received Valeo experts.
In the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment & Technology, Professor Xu Jianfeng introduced to Valeo experts the fruitful innovative achievements of the laboratory in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and digital equipment, and conducted in-depth exchanges with Valeo experts on the issues of interest.
Afterwards, Valeo experts visited the V.A.LAB China, and experts from both sides discussed the vibration and noise control of automotive air conditioners, vibration modal and acoustic characteristics testing and the recent work of the joint laboratory.
After the visit, the two sides held a seminar. Wan Tian introduced to the Valeo experts the basic information of HUST and the strategic cooperation between the university and world-renowned enterprises in various fields. Zhou Ming, Valeo NVH senior expert, introduced the global layout of Valeo's V&A laboratory and the development plan of the joint laboratory for vibration and acoustics. Francois BORDES spoke highly of the progress of the V.A.LAB China and hoped to further deepen the cooperation between Valeo and HUST.
V&A-LAB China was officially inaugurated in June 2022 at the School of Mechanical Engineering of HUST. At present, the joint laboratory has conducted in-depth research and provided system technical solutions for Valeo products such as automotive blowers, automotive air conditioning systems and vibration absorption pads. It has played an important role in the upgrading of Valeo products.
