News Website Report (Wen Kunmei, Correspondent) The 2022 China Cyber Security Week lasted from September 5 to September 11, during which HUST Cyber Security Week jointly held by the Network and Informatization Office, Publicity Department, Students Affairs Department and Network and Computing Center, also brought to a successful close.
Some important activities for faculty and students
A notice on carrying out activities during the 2022 cyber security week was published on HUST's Enterprise Wechat and information portal on September 5, with the aim to organize teachers and students to participate in the activities organized by the Chinese University Students Online (dxs.moe.gov.cn) under the guidance of the Department of Moral Education, Ministry of Education and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ministry of Public Security. Also, our teachers and students were encouraged to participate in various activities during the cyber security week, thus enhancing their awareness of cyber security and relevant protection skills.
Popularization of knowledge on cyber security
The knowledge on cyber security was shared on HUST's Enterprise WeChat and website homepage, and relevant materials were offered before teaching buildings of HUST, from September 5 to September 11.
Display boards and posters were placed in the East Nine Building, West Twelve Building and other populous areas, which mainly contained handbooks of cyber security knowledge and posters issued by superior departments.
The special website of HUST for publicizing cyber security knowledge was updated, and the website address is: http://cybersecurity.hust.edu.cn/, which includes: News & Trends, Brief of Cybersecurity Week, Laws and Regulations, Video, Online Test and Tips for Cybersecurity.
There are series of articles about the cyber security week on HUST's Enterprise Wechat, including Guide to VPN, Answer Questions for Free Internet Connection, Signature for Gift, Password Security Guidelines, Tips for Identifying and Guarding Against Phishing Emails, Security and Development ＆ Training of Cyber Security Talents, and Good Habits of Cybersecurity, Network Violence Prevention and etc.

Cybersecurity videos were played on the screens of the Teacher and Student Service Center and the Network and Computing Center, and relevant handbooks were offered.
Themed Cybersecurity For People and From People, the online signature activity of "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary and Defending Cyber Security on Campus" was held to advocate teachers and students' practicing, promoting and defending of cyber security. A total of 2,260 teachers and students participated in this activity.
Cyber security knowledge quiz show
The cyber security knowledge quiz platform has been updated to organize the activity of "Answer Questions for Free Internet Connection", subsequently, basic, advanced and challenging questions were released on the Enterprise Wechat for teachers and students. There are a total of 3,216 attendees.
A lecture themed Great Awareness of Cyber Security, A Safety Line for HUST was held at evening on September 6, where Cai Qin, cyber security expert, analyzed the trends of cyber security, publicized relevant laws and regulations, and shared skills for defending against cyber insecurity based on relevant cases. Over 70 teachers and students attended the lecture.
The second training on cyber security and IT application in 2022 was held on line on the morning of September 8, which introduced the cyber security guarantee in critical periods, host security maintenances, applications for IT projects, specifications for construction of all optical networks, etc. A total of 135 IT coordinators and relevant personnel attended the training, through which the quality of the network & informatization team was greatly improved.
Activities held in student Community
Staff of the Network & Informatization Office and the Network and Computing Center publicized cyber security knowledge and provided consultations in Yunyuan Student Dormitory on the morning of September 9, during which they issued cyber security handbooks and answered students' questions on cyber security. Meanwhile, a cyber security quiz show was held.
All in all, the enthusiasm of teachers and students were aroused to organize and participate in various publicity and education activities online and offline during the cyber security week themed Cybersecurity For People and From People. There were 35,866 attendees and viewers on relevant activities and posts during the cyber security week. Such extensive coverage reflects that the cyber security week had prominent effects and our teachers and students largely raised their awareness of cyber security.
