CALL FOR PAPERS
The 4th International Forum on PR and Advertising
will be held at the
University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, USA
23-25 August 2011
on the theme of
“The future of US-Chinese MEDIA COMMUNICATION and public diplomacy in a Post-Crisis World”
The current international economic crisis has already transformed the financial, industrial and manufacturing sectors in the world; causing many people to lose their jobs and many families to suffer degradation of their well being. The impact of these changes is profound and is expected to radically alter the future relations among a number of political and economic powers. The US and China will most likely be at the forefront of this debate, which may lead to ‘adjustments’ on a world scale.
This conference attempts to assess the future of US-Chinese relations from a number of inter-related perspectives. An underlying assumption being that a gradual change in economic and financial power will also lead to changes in ‘soft’ power like media communication, public relations, public opinion, public diplomacy and (new and old) media consumption.
We herewith invite abstracts and papers which meet the following requirements:
1. Abstracts of about 800 words, in English or Chinese, have to be sent to the organizers of the conference (English abstracts to Jan Servaes, csschange@gmail.com; Chinese abstracts to hust87559084@sohu.com) before 1 December 2010.
