Jurgen Kurths is Dean of the School of Enginering Science, at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

The current research interests include: Nonlinear & stochastic  phenomena in geophysical systems;  Stochastic climate dynamics; Geophysical fluid dynamics; Polar ice dynamics;Tipping points for natural hazards; Smart water.
