Notice on Holding HUST 3rd Dragon Boat Friendship Race

Dear international students,                                                                        April 15, 2022

 

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of HUST and to promote exchanges between Chinese students and our international students, we are delighted to announce that the Third Dragon Boat Friendship Race is going to be held. The theme of the event is "Move Forward with the Republic, Progress into the New Era". This year, you will be teamed with your Chinese cohort to set sail on Yujia Lake and strive for the medals.

As usual, the event is composed of an English lecture on dragon boat sport and dragon boat culture, two training sessions, and the final race. The schedule is as follows:


1. The English Lecture

Topic

Dragon Boat Culture in China


Speaker

Chen Ding, Assistant Professor of School   of Physical Education, Lead teacher of Traditional Chinese Cultural   Inheritance Center at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology

 

Time

On April 25th (Monday) evening


2. Training Session 1&2

Purpose

You will get hands-on experience with  rowing the dragon boat, and the coach will introduce some stroke techniques  and paddling basics that are important to run, steer, or hold the boat.

Time

April 28th (Thursday) afternoon & May 10th   (Tuesday) afternoon

 

3. The Friendship Race

Time

May 14th (Saturday) Morning

 

Location

Dragon Boat Training Base, Yujia Lake
