Recently, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) has won the Golden Badge from the Internship Office of the University of Oxford, for 2023 "HUST-OXFORD" Summer Internship Program. The six-week Program is the first program launched by the University of Oxford to send students to China for scientific research internships. This year, 14 outstanding undergraduates from Oxford has studied in various units of HUST, including the China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy, Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center, Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics and the School of Electronic Information and Communications.

The Golden Badge is only awarded to high-level scientific research internship programs attended by Oxford students once a year. HUST has won this badge for four consecutive years in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

In accordance with HUST Global Development Strategy 2030 and overall arrangement for summer school, the School of International Education of HUST has organized the “Study at HUST” Summer Internship Program. Based on advantageous disciplines and scientific research platforms of HUST, the program is designed for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from world-class universities, focusing on the frontiers of international science and technology, and deepening cooperation with world-class universities through scientific internships and research seminars, in order to expand HUST's international reputation and influence.

The China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy, School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Electronic Information and Communications, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, School of Management, School of Physics, Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center, Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics and other departments have provided strong support. Since its launch, the Program has received widespread attention from world-class universities and international students. Nearly 100 outstanding international students from several world-renowned universities have participated in the relevant research through rigorous election, including the University of Oxford, the University of Copenhagen, RWTH Aachen University, KU Leuven, Paris-Saclay University, and ITMO University and so on.
