On the afternoon of 16th December, the “Study at HUST” Online Promotional Session for International Students of the College of Life Science was held. Professor LIU Jianfeng, Deputy Dean of the College of Life Science, Professor LU Qunwei, Deputy Dean of the College of Life Science, Professor LIU Jianmiao, Director of the International Office of the College of Life Science, Professor LUO Liang, Deputy Director of Nanomedicine and Biopharmaceuticals department, Professor CHEN Weihua, Deputy Director of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology department, Professor YUCHI Ming, Deputy Director of Biomedical Engineering department, and Ms. ZHAO Xiaofeng, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education attended the session. Partner universities and students from France, Poland, Russia, Japan, Indonesia, Gabon, and Cambodia also participated in this event. The session was hosted by Ms. YAN Wei, Director of the International Admission and Cooperation Office of the School of International Education.

Ms. Zhao Xiaofeng, commenced the event by giving a welcoming speech to all participants online. She said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole world was confronted with unprecedented challenges. In such a special historical period, the participating institutions actively cooperated with HUST and gave full support which revealed the deep friendship between the cooperative institutes and HUST. She also expressed sincere blessings to the participants around the world present at the event.

Afterward, Professor LIU Jianfeng gave an introduction of the college scale, development history, discipline construction, international cooperation, teachers’ resources, and student training programs of the College of Life Science and Technology.

Later, Professor LU Qunwei, delivered a speech in Japanese. He sent a warm welcome to the outstanding youths from around the world, especially from Japan coming to study at HUST.

Subsequently, Professor LUO Liang, CHEN Weihua, and YUCHI Ming, gave detailed introduction of the research areas, research achievements, international cooperation, teachers, and resources of their individual department.

Concluding the presentations, Professor LIU Jianmiao gave an introduction of the Sino-French Master Program (HUST- UPSaclay) organized jointly by HUST and the Paris-Saclay University. She comprehensively presented the details of the education cooperation of professionals between HUST and UPSclay; revealing the extraordinary accomplishments achieved by this program in promoting educational cooperation and talents exchange between China and France.

“Study at HUST” Online Promotional Session for International Students is an innovative initiative taken by the School of International Education and designed to achieve rapid transformation as well as enhancing the publicity of international students’ admission in the post-epidemic period. It aims to attract more outstanding students to study at HUST by working closely with faculties, integrating the international connection resources of professors and research groups, and improving the service quality of international students’ admission. Currently, the promotional sessions of the School of Economics and the School of Electronic Information and Communication have also been held successfully.
