The General Meeting of Plasmas and Applications Committee of China Electrotechnical Society was held in Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences on April 10th, 2021. Han Yi, Secretary General of China Electrotechnical Society, Song Tao, Deputy Director of Institute of Electrical Engineering, and experts and scholars from domestic enterprises in plasma technology research field attended the meeting.

The chairman, vice chairman, secretary general, members and young members of the committee were elected during the meeting. Professors Lu Xinpei, Liu Dawei, Li Li and associate professor He Hengxin from SEEE of HUST were elected as members of the committee.

China Electrotechnical Society(CES), an integral part of the China Association for Science and Technology, is the leading academic, non-profitable national society of Electrical Engineering. The Plasmas and their Applications Committee - China Electrotechnical Society (CESP) is chartered by the China Electrotechnical Society Board to adapt the scientific development requirements of high voltage and discharge plasma applications. The scope of CESP includes science and technology popularization, academic conference organization, membership development, technical consultation, project appraisal, special workshop and professional training in high voltage and discharge plasma field. The committee members come from well-known universities and research institutes such as the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University of Technology, etc.

Since the establishment of the committee, committee members from SEEE have actively participated in the construction of the committee. Under the leadership of the China Electrotechnical Society, they have actively organized various activities in the field of high voltage and discharge plasma applications at home and abroad, and developed a multidisciplinary research including high voltage insulation technique, pulsed power, plasma physics and their applications. They have made contributions to the development of high voltage and discharge plasma applications in China.
