材料科学与工程学院从事博士后研究,2009年3月留校任教。主要从事铁电压电陶瓷材料及器件研究。主持承担国家自然科学基金青年基金、国家科技重大专项02专项子课题、湖北省自然科学基金面上项目、武汉市电子信息产业发展资金项目等10余项,已经在国内外重要学术刊物Applied Physics Letters、Journal of the European Ceramic Society、Journal of Alloys and Compounds、Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics及《无机材料学报》等发表学术论文20余篇,授权发明专利4项。

Academic Areas: Function ceramic materials and devices
Guifen Fan is the associate Professor of microelectronics and solid state electronics, at School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She ismainly engaged in the researches of ferroelectric and piezoelectric ceramic materials and devices. Specifically, the areas of research include in the following aspects such as:Studies on the design of perovskite-type piezoelectric ceramic material and its performance, which are including Sodium bismuth titanate based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, Potassium Sodium Niobate lead-free piezoelectric ceramics and high Curie temperature TcPb(B1,B2)O3-PZT piezoelectric ceramics. Studies on the low temperature sintering of piezoelectric ceramics and the low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) technology for piezoelectric devices. Based on the converse piezoelectric effect and the driving principle, the linear ultrasonic motor and piezoelectric micro displacement actuator are designed, simulated and prepared. Moreover, the YAG laser transparent ceramic materials and multiferroic magneto-electric materials are studied. Her works have been published in the leading scholarly journals including Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, and Journal of the European Ceramic Society. She teaches two courses, one is undergraduate course "Electronic Materials Physics ", the other is graduate course "Fabrication Engineering at the micro- and nano- scale."

Her research works mainly focus on piezoelectric ceramics, transparent ceramics, magneto-electric material, ultrasonic motor and piezoelectric micro-displacement actuator, etc.
