·Personal Information
Peijing Zhang, PhD, professor of college of life science and technology, Huazhong University o Science and Technology. I was selected to the "National Young Talent Project" and "Hundred Talents Program" of Hubei Province. I have identified and analyzed the epigenetic molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis and the mechanisms of lung metastasis and radioresistance in breast cancer by applying animal models of breast cancer, and discovered a series of new tumor drug targets, mainly deubiquitinating enzymes. I have published more than 20 papers in Nature Cell Biology, Nature Medicine and other top-tier journals, with total citations of more than 1000 times (SCI). My major academic and innovative achievements have been reported by Nature China and other media as highlights of his work.
The overarching goal of my laboratory is to understand the molecular mechanisms of tumor progression and metastasis by using breast and other cancer models. We have played a major role in establishing the current models of epigenetic regulation of metastasis and therapy resistance. Moreover, we discovered the deubiquitinases involved in tumor progression; some of these deubiquitinases are promising therapeutic targets. Currently, our lab is: (1) establishing new paradigms for functions and mechanisms of epigenetic modification in tumor progression and metastasis; (2) screening for deubiquitinating enzymes that promote tumorigenesis, metastasis, and therapy resistance; (3) investigating novel regulators and regulations of drug resistance; and (4) Identification of new early diagnostic and prognostic markers for tumors in animal models of disease by using protein tracer technology.
