·Personal Information
Jianbing Zhang, Associate Professor at School of Optical and Electronic Information and Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He received his Ph. D. degree in Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics from HUST in 2010. He has been focusing on synthesis of colloidal quantum dots (QDs) and their applications in optoelectronic devices. He developed a new synthesis for PbS and PbSe QDs, cation exchange synthesis, which can produce highly monodisperse PbS and PbSe QDs in a large range of size with well passivation and stability. Based on the high quality infrared QDs, he fabricated infrared QD solar cells, that supplement the light harvest of common solar cells by utilizing the low energy (< 1.1 eV) infrared photons, with record efficiencies. Additionally, he fabricated short wave infrared imager by monolithic integration of QDs with silicon-based readout integrated circuits. The QD imager can successfully take pictures and identify materials, inspect apple scar and veins with a size of 640 ´ 512 pixels.
