Dr. Jianfeng Zang is Professor of School of Optical and Electronic Information, and Innovation Institute, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). His scientific research interest is in the area of soft active materials, flexible electronics, and soft robots.

Dr. Zang studied materials science (B.E.) and condensed-matter physics (M.S.) in Jilin University, and received his PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of South Carolina and Duke University. He has received several prestigious awards including: HUST Bird Nest Program (2013), Duke University Kewaunee Postdoctoral Achievement Award (2014), MRS Meeting Session Chair (2014 spring, San Francisco), Program Chair of The 3rd International Symposium of Flexible and Stretchable Electronics 2017 (Wuhan, China). He has published over 60 papers in prestigious journals including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, JMPS, EML, etc. His papers have received more than 3000 citations with an H-index 23. He has 4 ISI Essential Science Indicators Top 1% highly cited papers. He served as the Editorial Board Member of Polymers. He has reviewed manuscripts for many scientific journals like Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, Nanoscale, Scientific Reports, Journal of Materials Chemistry, etc.
