Shi Jing, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Senior Member of IEEE, Member of IEEE Council on Superconductivity. She focuses on applied superconductivity in power system, application of energy storage in power system, and power demand response. She presides or participates over thirty projects, such as, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 program), National Basic Research Program of China-973 Program and Specialized Research Fund for ITER. In addition, the first conduction-cooled Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage System (SMES) – 35kJ/7kW SMES is developed and tested successfully. Recipient of the second prize of Hubei province natural science. The doctoral dissertation was a nominated paper of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of PR China. She published about 80 papers on the applied superconductivity, and two books.
