Prof. Fengguang Luo received his BS degree, MS degree and Ph. D degree from Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST), P. R. China, in 1984, 1989 and 1999, respectively. From 1984 to 1986 he spent two years at Wuhan Research Institute of Posts & Telecommunications inChina. Since 1989, he has been working at School of Optical & electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science & Technology. From 1997 to 1998, he has worked at Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong as Senior Visiting Scholar. His research interests are optical communications, optical switching, optoelectronic devices, optical interconnection and optical computing. He has gained Second-prize in Science and Technology Awards of Hubei Province, Third-prize in National Defense Science and Technology Awards inChina. He is the editor of Journal of Laser Technology, Journal of Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Journal of Applied Physics Frontier, respectively. He has 30 patents and more than 200 publications and conference papers to his credit.
