Jing Liu is a professor of State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Professor Liu is a New Century Excellent Talent of the Education Ministry of China, a Distinguished Young Scholar of Hubei Province, a Huazhong Scholar of HUST, an Excellent Doctoral Thesis Supervisor of Hubei Province, and a postgraduate supervisor of China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy. She is a visiting scholar of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique of France and Arizona State University, and makes a good cooperation with the research scholars from United States, France, Korea, Australia, and so on.

Her research interests include reaction mechanism and emission control of pollutants formation from energy utilization system, development of energy conversion and utilization technology, solid waste treatment and resource utilization, CO₂ capture and utilization. She has co-authored more than 88 SCI-indexed papers in refereed journals (including Combustion and Flame, Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, Environmental Science & Technology), and published five books. Five papers were selected as the highly-cited papers (h-index: 31). Her original works have been widely cited and positively evaluated by the highly influential journals, including Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Chemical Reviews, Energy & Environmental Science, Combustion and Flame, Environmental Science & Technology. She has filed ten patents on novel sorbent and catalyst materials, and attracted more than 10 million CNY in research grants from industrial partners and National Natural Science Foundation of China. In recognition of her ground-breaking research, she was honored with the National Natural Science First-class Award of Education Ministry of China. She served as the colloquium chair at the 36^th International Symposium on Combustion, the 4^th International Conference on Chemical Looping, the 9^th International Symposium on Coal Combustion, the International Conference on Solid Wastes 2015, the international Conference on Power Engineering 2013, the China National Symposium on Combustion 2016, the 3^th National Young Scholar Meeting on Combustion Research, the 31^th Chinese Chemical Society Conference on Combustion. Professor Liu has educated more than 3 postdoctoral fellows, 8 Ph.D students and 20 M.S students. Her graduates have won a lot of honors and awards, including National Postdoctoral Innovative Talents, National Scholarship, Excellent award of Graduates’ Innovation Fund, Excellent Doctoral Thesis of Hubei Province.
