Yuhui He got his Ph.D on microelectronics from Peking University in 2009. After that He worked at Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and then at Institute of Scientific & Industrial Research, Osaka University from 2009 to 2015. In September 2015, He joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology as a full professor, and was selected by the oversea talent young scientists program of China central government (2016).

Prof. He's research focuses on the interdisciplinary field between nanoelectronics and biology. He has worked on nanopore-based single-molecule detection for more than 10 years. One most alluring application is the next-generation genome sequencing. By utilizing the unique properties of (vertically-stacked) 2D materials, he developed several pretty novel technologies for genome sequencing such as establishing microscale temperature gradient and then thermophoretically driving DNA through nanopore, using stacked G/h-BN/G as the natural probes with sub-nanometer space-resolution (see ACS Nano, vol. 7, pp. 538–546 (2013), NPG Asia Materials vol. 6, e104 (2014)).

In recent years, He's group has been devoted to memristor based neuromorphic computing, and has published several papers on the topmost conference of microelectronics IEDM, Nano Letters, IEEE Neural Networks & Learning Systems, etc. 

Students graduated from the group usually go to work in Huawei, Baidu, etc.
