Gang Shen obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in Production Process Automation and Systems Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1990 and 1992, respectively. In December 1999, he completed his doctoral studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University.
He holds a faculty position at the School of Software Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He has been teaching courses on various subjects like "Computer Networks," "Embedded Systems," "Software Capability Maturity Model," and "Data Structures." He has published three textbooks.
His current research interests include information systems and algorithms, pattern recognition and data mining, and software engineering theories and methodologies. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as IEEE TAC, ADVEI, and JII and conferences such as IEEE CDC and IFAC World Congress. He has won two university-level teaching achievement awards from Hubei Province.
