HUST-SPBU academic exchange month was held throughout April.
The general agenda of the academic exchange month
Organized by the Office of International Affairs on both sides, the academic exchange month attracted a total of 500 participants from physics, chemistry, mathematics, and many other departments. Six bilateral symposiums were held on Multiphase Flow including, Statistical Physics, New Techniques in Medical Diagnosis and Treatment, Smart Media Technology-based Health, Ethical Issues in Genome Editing and Neuro Enhancement, Photocatalytic and Porous Material Technologies and Applied Mathematics and Data Science respectively. Experts from both universities were invited to deliver keynote speeches at each symposium, followed by discussions among professors and students. The symposiums not only provided an exchange platform for teachers and students from both universities but also created good conditions for both sides to expand cooperation.

The opening ceremony of HUST-SPBU academic exchange month was held on April 1st. Chen Jianguo, Vice President of HUST, Valeriya Malomuzh, Acting Vice-Rector for International Affairs at St Petersburg University, representatives from the Office of International Affairs, and related departments from both universities attended the ceremony. Heads of both universities reviewed the partnership’s achievements since its establishment and urged the two universities to deepen practical cooperation by carrying on the concept of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation. After the meeting, St Petersburg University reported on the event on its official website.
The report of SPBU on the academic exchange month
During the academic exchange month, the Office of International Affairs of the two universities communicated closely with the host departments and strived to publicize the activities to get more participants involved and ensure that seminars were on schedule. Their efforts made it possible for Chinese and Russian scholars to have in-depth academic discussions.
The wonderful moments of HUST-SPBU academic exchange month
Founded in 1724, St Petersburg University (SPBU) is one of the most renowned and academically powerful comprehensive research universities in Russia, and an important partner of HUST. In 2012, the two universities officially formed a partnership and signed an exchange agreement for scientific researchers. Over the past decade, scholars from both universities have made more than 100 visits, producing many cooperation achievements in the fields of energy, biomedicine, automation, mathematics, medicine, and health management.
