“Huazhong University of Science and Technology to celebrate its 70th anniversary (Celebration document No.1)” has captured great attention from all sides since its launch. Numerous students and faculty members, domestic and overseas alumni as well as representatives from all social sectors have taken active part in this process. Thanks to your vigorous support, the preparation of the 70th anniversary of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) has been carried out in an orderly manner. Thereinto, the logo of the 70th anniversary of Huazhong University of Science and Technology is confirmed after wide collection, careful selection, and continuous optimization. Today, the logo is formally released as follows:

Just as the picture shows, three thick lines outline the main design—number “70”, and then integrate into concentric rings. Inside the rings, there are HUST’s landmark architectures—the square of Nan Da Men and Nan Yi Lou. The shape symbolizes that Huazhong University of Science and Technology merged by three universities has carried on the patriotic mantle of our founders. Over the 70 years, HUST has striven to train endless talents for robust economic and social development as well as the betterment of all humankind. Therefore, it is honored as “the epitome of China’s development in higher education since the founding of the PRC”. As for the color, red and gold shine upon each other just as HUST’s remarkable progress takes roots in our patriotism, corresponding to the theme “Move Forward with the Republic, Progress into A New Era”.
