A strategic cooperation agreement between HUST and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) was signed in Wutongyu Academic Exchange Centre on December 10th. CASC Chairman Yansheng Wu and HUST President Yuanyuan Li attended the signing ceremony. Vice President Jianguo Chen presided over the event.

Yuanyuan Li paid high tribute to the Chinese astronauts exploring the boundless universe, while expressing his gratitude for the support and assistance CASC has afforded the university. He introduced the basic situation of the university, the school-enterprise cooperation, as well as the work serving regional development. Yuanyuan Li hoped that the two sides would take the opportunity to engage in multi-level, multi-forms and multi-disciplinary cooperation in scientific and technological research, institutional co-construction, resource sharing, talent cooperation and result transformation to promote the high-quality development of both sides.

Yansheng Wu affirmed the achievements made by HUST in scientific research and talent training. He hoped that both sides would give full play to their respective advantages and deepen strategic cooperation around high-level talent training. He hoped this co-operation might improve the level of basic research and innovation capabilities, while promoting the high-quality development of aerospace science and the technology industry with technological innovation.

Wei Wang, Director of Research and Development Department of CASC, and Jianguo Chen, Vice President of HUST signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.

In the report section of the ceremony, experts and scholars of the university reported relevant scientific research work. The participants hoped to strengthen cooperation in terms of projects, platforms and talent training, establish a regular high-level exchange mechanism, and promote the implementation of follow-up work.

Before the signing ceremony, Yansheng Wu visited Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics and the State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology. Related principals of CASC, and responsible officers of the university also attended the event.
