On March 2, the 4th National Art Show for College Students (NASCS), co-sponsored by Ministry of Education and Tianjin Municipal Government, came to a lose. This activity lasted for one week. Among all the 186 programs displayed in the 9 shows (including vocal music show, instrumental music show, dance show and drama show), Saying Goodbye to Cambridge Again and Eastward flows the Yangtze River displayed by chorus of Art Group of HUST won first prize. This is the second time Art Group of HUST has won first prize after the 1st NASCS held ten years ago.
On the purpose of vigorously preparing the show and improving singing ability, Art Group invited Wang Xiufeng (honorary president of Hubei Chorus Association, famous conductor and composer) and Lin Jingbai (vocal music expert, and topmost actress of China) to give meticulous guidance to the students in the chorus. After the intense winter training, the songs were performed to a higher level. During the Art Show in Tianjin, the students overcame the fatigue of travel and show their best, winning praise from all the judges.
In the previous Hubei Art Show for College Students, after the concerted efforts of both teachers and students, 5 papers won second prizes for Art Education Research Paper and 3 papers won third prizes. What’s more, 4 programs performed in the Art Show won first prizes for Excellent Art Program.
In order to promote the all-round development of morality, intelligence physique and aesthetic and display the results of art education in colleges and universities, National Art Show for College Students is held once every three years since 2005. At present, NASCS is an art fair with the highest specification, largest scale and widest influence in China.
