On December 7th, Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE) announced the list of newly elected academicians for 2015, in which two professors in HUST, Prof. Li Dequn from School of Material Science & Engineering and Prof. Ding Lieyun from School of Civil Engineering & Mechanics, were included. This additional selection increased the number of academicians in HUST to 15. Professor Chen Xiaoping was elected Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, the only academician in the department of medical science of HUST and even Hubei Province.
Prof. Chen Xiaoping
Prof. Chen Xiaoping graduated from Bengbu Medical College in 1973 and obtained his master’s degree and PHD in 1982 and 1985 respectively. Now he is the head of surgical department, director of Institute on Surgery of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancreas as well as director of Liver Surgery Center of Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College, HUST.
Prof. Li Dequn
Professor Li Dequn graduated from Tsinghua University in 1968 and obtained his master’s degree in Huazhong Institute of Technology in 1981. Currently Prof. Li is a Ph.D instructor, director of Degree Review Committee of School of Material Science & Engineering, associate director of the Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Material Forming and die & Mould Technology, associate director of Technical Committee of China Die & Mound Industry Association.
Prof.Ding Lieyun (left 1)
Professor Ding Lieyun (left 1) graduated from Wuhan Building Material Industry Institute in 1982 and then obtained his master’s degree in Wuhan Institute of Technology in 1987 and Ph.D in Tongji University in 2002. Now he is a HUST professor , Ph.D. instructor, director od engineering management research branch of the Architectural Society of China, associate director of department of management in Science and Technology Commission of Ministry of Education, director of engineering management major assessment committee of Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development. This time, he was elected the CAE academician in the department of engineering management.
