The inaugural meeting of China National International Joint Research Center of Green Communications and Network (CNIJRCGCN) was held in Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) on August 30.

China National International Joint Research Center of Green Communications and Networking was an international Scientific & Technological cooperation base at the national level, which was authorized by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China in October, 2015. Attached to HUST, the center aims to focus on the efficiency of the new generation broadband mobile communication system and to cooperate with research institutions, colleges and universities in UK, Germany, France, US, Australia and other countries and regions in related fields. In the process of cooperation, it commits to establish a board, stable, long-acting and win-win cooperation mechanism and to develop a great organization and management ability for international cooperation. By establishing cooperative research mechanism and persisting in the independent innovation (Introduction, Absorption, and then Innovation), CNIJRCGCN aims at playing a supporting role in the implementation of the National High-tech and Key technologies R&D Programs and improving China’s international status and influence in the field of information and communication. In the future, IJRCGCN will fully take the second-mover advantage of Information Technology to promote comprehensive development in economy, technology and culture of Hubei Province and to enrich international cooperation in science and technology in central region.

Academician Zhao Zisen delivered a speech about the establishment of China International Joint Research Center for Green Communications and Networking. He introduced the necessity of researching on Green Communications by describing the existing energy problems, and then suggested CNIJRCGCN to promote international cooperation with outstanding foreign research institutions and to develop the ability to hold big international conferences. Finally, Academician Zhao expressed his sincere wish that CNIJRCGCN could make great achievements in the field of Green Communications and play an important role in promoting the national undertaking of energy conservation and emission reduction.

After the speech, Vice President Mr. Liang Qian announced the list of the members of the Academic Committee and Consultative Committee of CNIJRCGCN, and awarded them the letter of appointment.

Prof. Niu Zhisheng of Tsinghua University, Prof. Ge Xiaohu and Prof.Chen Min of HUST, delivered their academic reports about Green Communications respectively and exchanged their ideas with other scholars.

Du Yun the deputy Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province and Mr. Liang Qian the vice president of HUST, attended the meeting.
