On August 31^st, Peng Jin, a doctoral student from the school of public health in Ohio State University, who graduated from clinical medicine major in Tongji Medical College of HUST in 2010, won the Student Patient Engagement Fellowship Prize awarded by the Society for Public Education.

The Society for Public Health Education enjoyed a history of over sixty years; its members include over 4000 experts and students in health education field from 25 countries. The prize aims at commending and cultivating potential students, to help them with the research and practice in health education and behavioral science. Only one person can win it each year, and the rewards include: a scholarship of $2000, the association dues of the society for a year, registering in Global Assembly in 2017 for free and the opportunity to publish thesis on the periodical of the situation. The scholarship would support Peng Jin’s doctoral research: the cooperation of child patients suffered cerebral trauma toward follow-up visits. The research had already got the subsidy of $72409 from the Public Security EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Project of the Ohio state government.

Peng Jin is now the candidate of the epidemiology doctor degree of the School of Public Health in Ohio State University. She had already got the master degree of biostatistics in Ohio State University in 2013 and in the same year, she became Professor Xiang Huiyun’s student to learn injury epidemiology in the medial school of that university. Peng Jin showed her thankfulness to Professor Xiang Huiyun in her acceptance speech, she said her achievement was closely related to his guidance. “I will keep endeavoring in the future to make better achievement, and become the pride of both Professor Xiang and Tongji Medical College of HUST.” Peng Jin said.
