During the National Day Holiday, over 1800 HUST alumni came back to attend the activity of “My AlmaMater, My Home” designed for the homecoming week. The young and old alumni wearing the same souvenir T-shirt and the same souvenir badge became a special view of the campus.

Old classmates came together, visiting the old labs and classrooms, recalling the good old days and talking with then supervisors and mentors. 85’graduate students from School of Mechanical Science and Engineering had a great talk with each other after 30 years of departure; 82’ alumni from School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering enjoyed a special performance by the staff chorus; 92’alumni from School of Pharmacy organized a homecoming conversazione for their 20^th graduation anniversary which was very moving; the class of 1986 from School of Optical and Electronic Information came back to their old laboratory to re-experience the fun of conducting experiments. A forum was organized by around 90 alumni of 1987 to 2007 from the same school expressed their appreciation to their mentor Professor  Huang Dexiu who is in his 80s now.

It is reported that the homecoming event have been successfully organized for 8 years since 2009. It has been greatly supported by all schools .Over ten thousand alumni have taken part in it.
