On November 19th, the award ceremony of the 6th Peigang Zhang Development Economics Excellence Achievement Prize and the 2016 China’s Economic Development Forum were held in Beijing. 9 scholars with 5 works won the prize.
Since its initiation in 2006, the Peigang Zhang Development Economics Excellence Achievement Prize has been awarded to a large number of scholars including Lin Yifu, Tan Chongtai, Wu Jinglian, Zhang Jun, Li Yining and Zhang Shuguang who have made great contributions to the development of economics, which has produced fine social influence and become one of the major awards in China’s economic circles.
The 2016 China’s Economic Development Forum was held at the same time. The participating experts and scholars have further and deepen discussion on the topic of Crossing the “middle income trap”: the innovative development of China’s economy during the 13th Five-year plan period. The academic reports have been given in succession by renowned scholars Chen Xiwen, Zhang Shuguang, Li Shi, Ba Shusong, Li Yang, Zhang Jianhua, Zhou Liqun, Yang Ruilong, Huang Qunhui, Shi Qinghua, Long Xiaoning, Hu Biliang, Li Zuojun, Wang Xiaoqin, Zhang Ping, Yu Miaojie, Du Yang, Zhang Xiaojing, Wu Yanbing, Yang Chengyu and Qian Xuesong, who were from Chinese Academy of Social Science, Development Research Center of the State Council, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Xiamen University and other research institutions.
