Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and its affiliated hospitals not only played an important role at the forefront, but also in the scientific research field to battle COVID-19. The number of COVID-19 research papers published by HUST scholars ranks first in the world.
As of July 1st, 2020, a total of 13,717 COVID-19 research papers (11,403 Articles and 2,314 Reviews) published by global scientific institutions from 2019-2020 have been included in the databases Web of Science and Scopus. Among them, HUST and its affiliated hospitals published 399 papers, ranking first in the world. And 2359 individual scholars participated.
The 11 affiliated hospitals of HUST not only spared no effort to rescue patients, but also cooperated in scientific research on epidemic prevention and control, publishing high-quality academic papers and sharing the experience with the world in a timely manner.

School of Public Health, School of Basic Medicine, Department of Forensic Medicine, School of Pharmacy, Institute of Reproductive Health, School of Medicine and Health Management, School of Nursing, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Economics, and other schools and departments actively carried out multidisciplinary COVID-19 studies and published many academic papers to provide reference for the research on COVID-19 and the prevention and control of the epidemic around the world.
Of the 399 COVID-19 research papers published by HUST, more than half (207, accounting for 51.88%) are published in JCR Q1, in which 27 papers are published in journals with an Impact Factor greater than 20, covering a wide range of disciplines.
