News.hust.edu.cn (Correspondent: Zhang Zaoxiong and Hu Bin) From April 10th to 14th, the 47th edition of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (IEIG) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. HUST was conferred two special gold awards (special recognition), five gold medals and one bronze medal by the international jury of experts out of eight innovative programs, coming out on top among the domestic colleges and universities participating in the exhibition.
The two inventions of “New Motor Controller with Zero-Sequence Current Injection Capability” invented by Professor Jiang Dong’s team and “Self-Powered Wave Monitoring and Tsunami Warning Device” invented by Professor Xu Ming’s team respectively won special gold awards at the IEIG; five inventions including "One-step Molding of Polar Coordinate Additive Manufacturing Equipment with Gradient Polymer Materials" invented by Professor Shan Bin’s team, "Direct Carbon Solid Oxide Fuel Cell with Liquid Antimony Metal as Anode" invented by Professor Li Jian’s team, "Permanent Magnet Coupler with Magnetic Field Modulation" invented by Professor Qu Ronghai’s team, "Online Monitoring Device with Uniformity of High-Current and Strong Electron Beam Irradiation" invented by Associate Professor Huang Jiang’s team, and "Printable Mesoscopic Perovskite Solar Cell" invented by Professor Han Hongwei’s team won the gold medals; the "Cloud Intelligent Navigation System for Unmanned Vessels" invented by Professor Xiang Xianbo's team was awarded the Bronze medal. At the same time, Professor Qu Ronghai's team also won a special award conferred by Romanian Association for Science and Technology.
IEIG 2019 has attracted corporate organizations and individuals from 40 countries and regions across the world, with nearly 1,000 new inventions and products displayed. Over ten institutions of higher learning in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Fudan University, Northeastern University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and HUST participated in the exhibition.
