To broaden students' international vision, improve students' comprehensive quality, and promote the exchange and cooperation between institutions, 22 undergraduates from the School of Materials Science and Engineering enjoy their summer camp to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore from 9 to 17 August 2023. During the 9-day activities, students learn about education and culture of Singapore in various forms, such as course study, laboratory visits, local enterprise visits, etc., to strengthen and enhance the ability of cross-cultural communication, international vision, teamwork, and so on.

From 10th to 16th, the they spent five days at NTU to study Engineering Materials, a basic course in materials science. The course was conducted by Prof. Tan Ming Jen School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering about engineering materials and their mechanical properties, including microstructure, defects, dislocations, strengthening and softening of materials.

During the camp, students visited the HP-NTU Digital Manufacturing Enterprise Laboratory and the NTU 3D Printing Laboratory to witness their achievements in innovative technology and research. And they also visited three local companies (Paw Leck Engineering, Weston Robot and Bosch Rexroth) to gain a basic understanding of production and employment in Singapore.
