Introduction

The College of Computer Science and Technology of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was established in 1997. Its predecessor was the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (founded in 1973) of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology (the Huazhong Institute of Technology). After nearly 50 years of construction and development, it has become an essential base for talent training and scientific research in computer science and technology in China. It has the right to confer a doctorate in the first-level discipline of computer science. Among its four second-level domains: computer system structure, computer software and theory, computer application technology, and information security, computer system structure is a national key discipline and featured discipline in universities in Hubei Province.

The college has five research institutes for parallel distributed computing, data storage, digital media, data engineering, artificial intelligence, and optimization, and 13 national or provincial and ministerial research bases, including the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Big Data Technology and Systems. We have incubated four high-tech enterprises, such as Dameng Database. The scientific research of the college has always been at the forefront of the computer discipline and has had a significant impact on the development of "distributed computing" and "information storage". In terms of modern database theory and technology, digital media, network systems, information security, and N.P. Problem-solving, we have formed our characteristics and outstanding comprehensive strength.

The college adheres to the "system-oriented, software-hardware collaboration" system capacity training concept, builds multiple online and offline national first-class courses, won the first prize of national, provincial, and ministerial teaching achievements, and won the 2016 ASC World Supercomputing The overall champion of the competition, the first place in the 2017 SET International Algorithm Competition, and the global championship of the 2021 Graph Computing Challenge, have cultivated a large number of innovative talents including Huawei's "Topminds"; actively undertake primary national science and technology projects and get a series of high-level research results including the Second Prize of National Natural Science, Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and Second Prize of National Technological Invention. The college has been approved as an Innovation Group by the National Foundation of China and the Innovation Team by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Education. The discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education is A, and we have been selected as one of the critical construction disciplines by the Ministry of Education's "Double First-Class Program".

2. General requirements

(1) Age requirement: Applicants for associate professor (associate researcher) and below are generally required to be under 35 years old, and those applying for Professor (researcher) are usually required to be under 40 years old.

(2) Academic degree requirements: Applicants should generally have a doctorate from a well-known high-level university or research institution at home and abroad. Priority is given to Ph.D. graduates from world-class universities or post-doctoral fellows with more than two years of post-doctoral experience in world-class universities, scientific research institutions, and post-doctoral fellows with fruitful academic achievements.

(3) Academic level requirements: In principle, applying for a college teaching position should meet the academic level requirements set by the school.

Those who have held senior technical positions in internationally renowned companies or research institutions for more than five years, or have a doctorate or post-doctoral experience in a top foreign university, may appropriately relax their academic level and age requirements. After academic evaluation, those with outstanding academic achievements or educational backgrounds can relax their age or study and work experience requirements.
