(Article and photo by Ren Ruobing and Su Qian, a reporter from the Press and Publicity Center of the School of Management) On October 17, Dr. Russell Wordsworth, Dean of UC Business & Law, and Dr. Christopher Vas, director of MBA Program, visited the School of Management and held talks with Liu Junhua, Dean of the School of International Education of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wang Haijun, Assistant to the Dean of School of Management, Deng Shiming, Professor of Department of Production Operation and Logistics Management, Luo Guang, Associate Professor of MBA Center, and Li Juan, a teacher in the Office of International Affairs in Conference Room 411.
At the beginning of the activity, Professor Wang Haijun, on behalf of the School, welcomed the visit of representatives from UC. Dr. Russell Wordsworth and Dr. Christopher Vas introduced the UC and its School of Business from different perspectives. Founded in 1873, the UC is a comprehensive public university, one of the eight largest universities in New Zealand. The main Department and School includes engineering, business, art and so on, of which engineering is the most famous.
Subsequently, Luo Guang briefly introduced the development history and project characteristics of the MBA of the School of Management. He said the School's emphasis is on business-to-industry integration in the cultivating of MBA students and then illustrated in conjunction with the curriculum. At the same time, Luo pointed out, the School of Management also pays attention to cultivating students' open international vision, and actively cooperates with some international institutions to build a broad learning platform for MBA students. The school also hopes to develop close cooperation with the UC Business School. And then, the two sides conduct in-depth discussion on the details of priority cooperation and study abroad program. Both sides expressed the hope that the talks would further promote cooperation and exchanges between the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the UC.

Dr. Russell Wordsworth pointed out that under the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as students of the School of Management, they must have a clear graduation plan, recognize the opportunities and challenges in the future, and let themselves fully participate in the technological revolution, so that they can find their place in society.

On the morning of the 18th, Dr. Russell Wordsworth and Dr. Christopher Vas, accompanied by Deng Shiming, Luo Guang and Peng Jing, deputy director of the MBA Center, visited Wuhan Institute of Entrepreneur Ship Shenglong Universuty. Shenglong Electric is a leader in smart grid and smart energy management. The foreign side hoped to cooperate with Wuhan Institute of Entrepreneur Ship Shenglong Universuty in the field of smart city with the help of the platform of the School of Management.
