Wang Zongjun, Dean of the School, made a summary and analysis of the work of the school in the first half year from two aspects: breakthrough and development. In the first half of 2019, SOM made new breakthroughs and The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. According to 2019 the Best Chinese Subjects Rankings by Shanghai Ranking, the subject of Management Science and Engineering of the college remain the 2nd in Chinese Mainland. The subject of Business Administration ranks 2nd and Management ranks 4th among the Universities in Chinese mainland according to Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. The School's ESI discipline contribution in the University is in a leading position, of which Economics and Business, Psychiatry and Psychology ranked 1st. The achievements of scientific research are remarkable, with 14 NSFC projects approved and 7 "excellent" and 1 "excellent" in performance evaluation of National Natural Science Foundation of China. Teaching staff of the School is becoming more and more reasonable, and the introduction and training of high-level talents have made a breakthrough. The program of moral education and people cultivation is fruitful and enrollment situation is gratifying. And thanks to the various ways of build brand, brand competitiveness and influence continue to enhance. At the same time, international certification has entered a new stage, and international cooperation and exchanges are extensive and in-depth. The construction and service management of alumni work platform also continue to improve. Chinese Journal of Management is more professional. Information and experimental center, and library work are more diversified and intelligent.
Wang Zongjun elaborated on the four key tasks to be promoted in the second half of the year. The first is to prepare for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and to promote the brand influence from three levels: School, department, and faculty and staff. Second, make every effort to prepare for AACSB site certification and make relevant preparations. Third, to start the next round of subject evaluation, go to key universities and research, and continue to promote the "management and communication" double-first-class discipline group construction. Fourth, continue to promote the construction of warm buildings, create unity and harmonious ecology, and concern about the growth of students and the development of faculty.
Jin Lingzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee, said in conclusion that the School party committee has performed well in deepening the cultivation of morality, strengthening the grass-roots party building, and giving prominence to the exemplary vanguard role of party members through the implementation of the three major plans of "Growing Together", " Original Aspiration Action", and "Pioneer Set Sail". Jin Lingzhi pointed out that the key work in the second half of the year is mainly in five aspects: party building, talents, cadres, professional ethics, and development. In the aspect of talent introduction, we should strengthen the construction of talent team by constructing a good talent introduction system and "going out and bringing in". In the construction of professional ethics, he stressed that teachers should strengthen the guidance to postgraduate, actively care about students and strictly observe academic integrity and morality. And the college should strengthen teachers' morality and pay attention to students through the implementation of "peer program".
