报告人简历

刘学伟,博士,新加坡南洋理工大学副教授,本科就读于中国农业大学化学系,1996年在中国农业大学获得硕士学位,2000年获得南加州大学化学系博士学位,先后在美国P&GChugai Pharma 等公司任职,20032005年在加州理工学院做博士后研究,20061月起在南洋理工大学化学与生物化学系任助理教授(Assist. Prof, 2012年起任副教授(Assoc. Prof)。主要研究方向包括有机合成化学、糖化学、糖生物学、药物化学及功能性材料化学,目前获得研究经费超过2000,000新币,在世界知名期刊发表论文百余篇,其中包括3J. Am. Chem. Soc., 5Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2Adv. Mater., 1Chem. Soc, Rev.。多篇文章被ACS Chemical & Engineering News, nature publishing group, Angewandte, Synfacts, ChemistryViews highlight和评论。

Abstarct:

Ubiquitously decked on the surfaces of all cell types in nature, oligosaccharide molecules play central roles in the development, cooperation and vitality of an organism. Multitudinous approaches to make glycosidic bonds in a highly stereoselective manner have speedingly emerged for the last two decades. Nonetheless, an efficient and universal method to confidently synthesize various glycoconjugates have yet been established, especially one that is applicable for large scale and combinatorial chemistry. There are many reasons for the nascent state of carbohydrate researches, including the advent formation of new stereogenic center after every glycosylation step, the arduous characterization and purification thereafter, as well as the common expression of carbohydrate chains in a nonlinear, branched fashion. Extensive efforts are ongoing in our research group to overcome these challenges. Here, we present direct and reliable synthetic approaches that readily provides oligosaccharides and C-glycosides with not only exclusive anomeric stereoselectivity but also a wide range of derivatizations. Based on our synthetic expertise, we have developed new systems for sensing cellular proteins and events.
